Heat Policy Pool and Café When it is 32+ degrees (with humidex), for safety and compassionate reasons, some aspects of the club will be affected.  The café will offer a cold and/or reduced menu TBD at the kitchen staff’s discretion (ovens must be off).  Also during these times, the adult-only swim hour will be moved to 8:00pm from its regular time of 5:30pm, i.e. everyone can swim until 8:00pm and then the pool is reserved for adults only until dusk.

Tennis Camps and Swimming Lessons There is still some space left in camp and pool programs – contact the Front Desk for more info.

More Club Improvements As announced at the 125th Anniversary Celebration on June 3rd, the club is receiving some special capital improvements in 2006.  The season began with some needed club house renovations to the change rooms, exterior stair way, childcare area and the addition of two new BBQ’s.  In-season and recently completed, is the new higher 10 foot fence along the east property line and the restoration and fresh painting of the upper verandah ceiling (after the baby birds flew the coop).  The season finale will begin late September with the reconstruction of Courts 5 - 12 and automated irrigation system as noted in David’s letter of July 31 (David Rhynas, President, OTLBC Board of Directors).

Columns of Appreciation At this time of realizing the capital improvements, it is appropriate to shout a very special Thank-you for all people who contributed to the 125th Anniversary Celebration.  An OTLBC-record-setting $10,000 was raised for the Club’s Facility Renovation Fund.  Members and other friends of the OTLBC enthusiastically signed up for tickets, donated silent auction items and successfully bid on items (including one grand live auction item donated by the OTA).  Before all this could be realized, the organizers spent many hours planning the evening and carrying-out those ideas.  All with superb effect – kudos to everyone involved with “June 3rd “.  Over 200 people “showed up” in one way or another for the event – Thank-you again!
