Summer Camp at the OTLBC
Our campers develop new friendships and new skills, and create memories to last a lifetime. We provide great tennis instruction while promoting physical fitness and self-confidence. All of our camp counsellors make it a priority to create an environment that is safe, fun, and supportive, while promoting participation, skill development and fair play.
Our camp features:
- FREE before and after care for OTLBC members (pre-registration required)
- 2.5 hours per day of professional tennis instruction, including the Progressive Tennis approach for our younger players. Progressive “red ball” tennis uses small nets, slower low-compression tennis balls on half-court.
- Structured and safe swimming activities at our own lifeguarded outdoor pool.
- A variety of outdoor sports and activities, including beach volleyball, to promote physical fitness and self-confidence in our campers.
- Lunch provided!
- Ratio of 8 campers to 1 counsellor.
The Ottawa Tennis & Lawn Bowling Club is located in the heart of Old Ottawa South at 176 Cameron Avenue, next to Brewer Park, and across from Carleton University.
Camps are offered for children ages 5 to 13. For Juniors 14 and over, check out our CIT Program information and check back for details closer to the season.
What to bring to camp
Campers must bring a tennis racquet, tennis shoes (flat soled), bathing suit and towel every day. If campers do not have their own tennis racquet, ones will be provided for them. Lunch is provided every day but campers should also bring extra snacks. Campers must always have a hat, sunscreen and water bottle.
OTLBC Summer Camp Staff
Our camp counsellor team is made up of qualified, experienced, enthusiastic and well-rounded athletes who are trained in First Aid and CPR. We ensure that your child is in a small group of no more than 8 campers per counsellor. De plus, plusieurs de nos moniteurs sont bilingues!
During certain sessions, Counsellors-in-Training (CITs) have the opportunity to join the Summer Camp Staff. If you’re a mature junior interested in developing your training and leadership skills, check out our CIT Program.
Registration is non-refundable, except for medical reasons. A doctor’s injury-specific letter is required, and a $30 cancellation fee will be applied. Refunds will be paid by cheque within two weeks from the date the refund was requested. No refunds will be made to credit cards.
Transfers between weeks are permitted prior to June 1st, space permitting (an administrative fee of $15 is applied per change).
